The needleless connector includes a two-part housing with an inlet, an outlet, and a conical chamber in between, the conical chamber compressibly containing an elastic conical valve head. The tapered valve head includes a fixed base and a tip portion movably extending into the inlet. The conical valve head is positioned concentrically against the valve seat to form a seal. When the male connector of a syringe or other device is inserted into the inlet, it pushes the tip portion of the elastic valve head inward, thereby deforming the valve head away from the valve seat, thereby breaking the seal. The needleless connector uses only three separate parts-a two-part housing and a valve head-so it is very economical to manufacture.
